July 4th
I love our Browning family July 4th traditions. First we all meet for breakfast at Kevin's mom's house, eat lots of pancakes with our secret family recipe of chocolate syrup (okay not so secret, I'll give it to you if you want) and fruit salad. Then we sit around and laugh and chat in their gorgeous backyard that stays cool all day.

Rough housing

Neicia always has a baby in her arms. I have to admit, I was the same way when I was growing up.

The kids played guess grandma's age. (Hee, hee, I'm the one who told them she's 87.) "T" thought that was pretty funny.

McKenna lookin' cute in her new glasses.

That's a pretty devious look from Noah.

Playing on the tire swing

After breakfast we went to Overland Park Theater (which we love because we get treats with our admission) and had ourselves a double feature. We saw and "Imagine That" and "X-Men. The kids loved them. I especially loved when my girls got to see Hugh Jackmans naked bum...twice. Yeah, that was great. If it was just Kevin and me that saw it I'd probably not have even noticed. We watched that movie with grandma and cousins that showed up. Then because food in two movies evidentally wasn't enough
we made a trip to Burger King where half the kids didn't eat cause they were too full...What?

Our final tradition is to go to the Hawks baseball game. Baseball may be boring at times but you sure can't get more "American" than that. And by doing so, of course, we get front row seats to the fireworks afterwards. There are lots of activities for the kids besides the game. The kids got a little lesson in money management when Kevin had them get snow cones for everyone and it cost $18. I think they found some appreciation for the cost of family activities. The fireworks were beautiful. That last one freaked us out. The heat that came off of it was amazing.

Run Neicia, run

Brownings- Well, most of us

This cracks me up.

The race is on

Is that what calm looks like on Neicia?

Holy heat wave!

Summer's grand, isn't it? It looks your family had a lot of fun. I read you were starting your diet. I hope you'll be successful with that. It's just one minute at a time for me these days. I'm kinda on hold because of health issues, but once they're taken care of, I'll be back at Weight Watchers and in the gym. Good luck to you.

Geez, you're right...that last firework is freaky! Looks sorta like an atomic bomb went off. Well, ya'll have some fun 4th traditions! Loved all the pics...especially the one with McKenna going down the slide with a terrified look on her face! Oh...and you're right, Neicia is ALWAYS holding a baby!
