Predicament
How do I find myself in crazy predicaments? Do you ever feel like a goof ball? I think I must get this from my mom's side of the family but this one was great. I'm almost embarrassed to know me. Lol.On our porch we have snowflake lights. One keeps drooping as the hook in the siding isn't staying put. One evening I was carrying 4 bottles of sparkling cider into the house. My arms were full. As I stepped up onto the porch my hair got caught on the snowflake. Not just a couple hairs, a good handfull, right at the top of my scalp.
Do you see the predicament? I was stuck! I couldn't free myself because both arms were full of glass. I couldn't drop the bottles, they'd break. Because my hair was caught above me, I couldn't lean down to set the bottles on the ground and I couldn't walk toward the door because I'm vain and didn't want to have a hairstyle like this,

or like this. (ever see a comb UP?)

I tried to step backward, the idea in mind that if I reverse my action my hair may come undone....to no avail. It tangled more.
After yelling for help, didn't help, I finally figured it all out. You have more reaching capability when stretching with your leg in back of you. I turned around (so I was facing the road) stretched my leg in back of me and knocked on the door with the top of my foot. Ingenious right? Needless to say, Neicia rescued me. While laughing, she put the bottles down, told me I'm an embarrassment and that she hoped none of the neighbors saw me. Then she was kind enough to "unstick" my hair from that infamous droopy snowflake. Freed at las'. Thanks Neicia.
I'd love to sum this up with a moral to the story but couldn't quite get there. Do you have one for me?

Moral of the Story is...when life throws you snowflakes...just kick in the door, and call it a fabulous day...
You crack me up...!! HAHAHAHA...wish I could live in that part of the "hood" so I could have witnessed the whole thing...it's okay though, the visual picture was great enough that I felt present for the whole thing...!!! Thanks!!
I ditto what Tamra said--wish I could have seen that! Great narration of it though. I bet your kids loved that!

Thanks for the comments about Christmas in 1978-not 1977! :-) Until I have time to change it in photoshop it will remain 1977!

Thanks for making me an auntie! I love you:)
Funny! I wonder if there is a scientific name for the "goofball" gene. It seems to be one dominant genetic trait!
Oh sweet daughter is right on. It is nice to be able to blame it on a Gene!

Good heavens, that is one of the funniest things I've heard in a long time. I can just picture it. And it sounds like something that would happen to me!
