It's Monday and I feel like talking about a memory of one of my kids. Why not? My kid, my memory, my blog. I think it's good to remember funny moments, learning experiences, and milestones. They help us see how our children develop into the people they become. Who knows, maybe I'll make it a tradition.

Trevin is my oldest. When he was about 4 years old we were watching the Rosie O'donnell Show for the first time. She was talking about her adoption story- She'd just adopted a little boy. Trevin said, "I think she's a good mom like you." I asked him why and anxiously awaited the compliment I thought was coming. He replied, "Cause she's soft too." I gave him a thank you and a forced smile. He squeezed me tight and I felt like the Pillsbury Dough Boy. A few minutes later I went to the bathroom and cried, just a little. Kids and their honesty.
Actually, It turned out to be a blessing. No, not because it motivated me to run that 40 lbs. off. But because Trevin cuddled with me well beyond when most kids are willing to cuddle with their moms. When he was 10 we were cuddling on the couch one day and I asked him if he'd always cuddle with me, even when he's a grown man. He thought seriously about it and said, "I'll cuddle with you until I'm 14." And he did. He remembered that. He still cuddled with me when he was 13 but once he turned 14 he was done. Sometimes, I could use another mommy cuddle from him.
Feel free to share a Mom's Memory. If you post it on your blog just add your blog link to your comment so I can go check it out.

Oh my gosh!! That picture is SO adorable!! I hope my boys snuggle with me til they are 14!!
What a cute memory! Even if it wasn't exactly what you wanted to hear at the time...he meant it in the sweetest way! And I only wish my kids would cuddle with me til they're 14! Baylee already doesn't like holding my hand in public! :(
They grow up so fast! They were so cute! I wish they always love to cuddle.
Awe! Until he is 14, how cute is that.. and yes bitter sweet that it ended.
This was a very endearing post. I just love little ones and this was such a sweet story. I know that you treasure those cuddling moments. The pictures was so adorable.
Thanks also for dropping by my blog.
That is such a sweet story. I sure do miss those cuddles. My youngest son cuddled until he was 14. Then quit. I miss it! (I get hugs now, from the married man he now is, but they don't last nearly long enough!) Going to the other blog post now. I'm excited to read it!!!
