Ben and Sam

Oh how I'm going to miss these two little guys. Ben is smart as a whip. He knew Spanish before he came to me and I taught him English and quite a bit of Sign Language. He doesn't just say his ABC's. At just over 3 he recognizes them and says "Capital A for apple." throughout the alphabet. He called me mommy for the longest time after he started talking. I guess he thought he has two mommies. A few months back he was sitting on the potty and didn't want to get off (he gets to play the DS while he's on there). Finally, it was time-someone else needed to use it. As I pulled him off, his little bum stuck to the seat. He said, "Ow, mommy kiss it better." I almost died laughing. I had to explain that I have my limits. He settled for a kiss on the cheek and a hug.

Sam is a charmer. He has a huge smile that lights up not just the room but the whole house. He is quite the flirt. I had to add the picture of him falling asleep during lunch. He couldn't quite wait for nap time. He was plumb tuckered out from all of our play. The girls and I laughed and took pictures of him bobbing his head instead of putting him out of his misery and laying him down. It was just adorable...I know I'm mean.

I can't help but be happy for their little family though. Simon (dad) was accepted to Cornell. Off to New York they went. I told Simon and Claire I'd give them free daycare for the next 4 years if they'd just leave the boys here. For some reason they always think I'm joking. Darn.
I'm going to miss these two. There is something special about the bond we all made. I almost cried when Ben asked me if I'll live by him in New York. He thinks I'm going too. Maybe they'll come back and visit holidays at least. Thank heavens they have family here. Bye babies, love you.
